Indian Wells, California  - Andy Murray bids for his third title of the season after setting up a final with world number 1 Rafael Nadal at the Indian Wells Masters on Saturday.

Murray stunned error-prone second seed Roger Federer 6-3, 4-6, 6- 1, marking his fourth consecutive victory over the former dominator of the sport since losing to the Swiss in the US Open final six months ago.

Madrid  - Striker Frederic Kanoute hit a handsome hat-trick on Saturday, in Sevilla's 4-1 thrashing of hapless Valladolid.

The comfortable win consolidates Sevilla in third place in La Liga, six points ahead of fourth-placed Villarreal, who beat Athletic Bilbao 2-0 earlier on Saturday.

Kanoute is in the best form of his career, at the ripe old age of 31. He started the rout after just eight minutes by turning in a centre from Koffi Romaric.

Falun, Sweden - Dario Cologna of Switzerland won the men's double pursuit over 10 kilometres in the Nordic ski World Cup finals in Falun on Saturday.

Marcus Hellner of Sweden clinched second place ahead of Tobia Angerer of Germany.

Cologna boosted his chances of winning the overall World Cup with victory in the classic and freestyle techniques in 54 minutes 59.5 seconds. Hellner was 1.7 seconds behind, with Angerer 2.4 seconds back.

Ranchi, Mar 21 : Cricket fans of Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni gathered here in large numbers on Saturday to celebrate India's historic win over New Zealand.

Fans burst crackers, distributed sweets and danced to express their happiness.

"We are celebrating because under the leadership of Dhoni India has won a test match in New Zealand after 33 years. All the people here are very happy. We are going to pay a visit to a religious shrine to pray that India win the series as well," said Gautam, a young cricketer.

Dharamshala, Mar 21 : Dharamsala hopes to emerge as a likeable venue for international cricket, even as preparations are in full swing at the town''s picturesque cricket stadium for the second edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Dharamsala expects to host four matches, after the league commences from April 10.

Trondheim, Norway  - Record winner Ole Einar Bjoerndalen of Norway won the men's 12.5-km pursuit race before home fans in Trondheim Saturday to increase his overall biathlon World Cup lead.

The 35-year-old veteran missed the target twice on his way to victory in 33 minutes 36.3 seconds, finishing 25.1 seconds ahead of Austria's Simon Eder and 25.3 seconds up on Poland's Tomasz Sikora.

With four events left, Bjoerndalen has 864 points, with Sikora on 828 and Russia's Maxim Tchoudov on 709.
