Tibetan exiles write letter in blood seeking PM''s support to their cause

Tibetan exiles write letter in blood seeking PM''s support to their causeAllahabad, Jan 14 : Tibetan exiles have appealed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking his support to their struggle for independence of Tibet.

The protesters, holding portraits of their spiritual leader Dalai Lama, staged a demonstration against the Chinese rule in Tibet on Tuesday.

They chanted slogans against the China and wrote a letter in blood seeking Prime Minister''s assistance for their cause.

"We all Tibetans appeal to the Prime Minister to support our cause," said Sonam, a Tibetan exile.

Tibetans have long been waging a struggle against Chinese rule in Tibet. Beijing considers Tibet as part of China and has been ruling it since 1959.

Tibetans say "Chinese atrocities" have increased since the March 14 Tibetan uprising in Lhasa in 2008, which China blamed on the Dalai Lama and his "clique."

The riots later spilled over to the rest of Tibet and neighboring Chinese provinces with Tibetan populations, drawing global attention. (ANI)
