Three people dead in attack on military camp in Mexico
Mexico City - Three people died early Wednesday as they tried to attack a military camp in San Francisco del Rincon, in the central Mexican state of Guanajuato, the authorities said.
The attack happened shortly after midnight, and three soldiers were injured, two of them seriously.
The Mexican military had set up the camp on a fairground in San Francisco del Rincon on July 26, after several acts of violence were reported in the area.
The attack was allegedly perpetrated by some eight people moving in two vehicles. They attacked officers with high-calibre weapons and grenades.
The site of the attack is near the home of former Mexican President Vicente Fox (2000-2006). (dpa)
