Texas A&M University Professor Fails His Entire Class

Irwin Horwitz, a professor at Texas A&M University at Galveston, failed his entire class and left his position last week.

The professor said since teaching the course of strategic management, he has caught and seen students cheating.

He said that he was told to 'chill out', 'get out of my space', 'go back and teach', had one student cheat by signing in for another, one student not showing up but claiming they did, listened to many hurtful and untrue rumors about himself and others.

"None of you, in my opinion, given the behavior in this class, deserve to pass, or graduate to become an Aggie, as you do not in any way embody the honor that the university holds graduates should have within their personal character", Horwitz wrote in his email.

Horwitz told KPRC in Houston that the students in his class were the worst in his 20 years of his teaching career.

He said it became quite evident that the students cannot do the most simple and basic things that they should have been able to do.

A university spokesman said the school is investigating the claims made by Horwitz's. Spokesman also said that it won't allow him to fail the estimated 30 students in the class.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Patrick Louchouarn told KPRC that none of the students would fail until the end of the class.

Horwitz also told the Houston Chronicle that he do not believe that the school administration did enough to enforce the school's honor code.

The school administration would not fail the kids to make as much money as possible, said Horwitz.

John Shaw, a student of Horwitz said he was shocked seeing the email. He said he had never had a problem in class, and believes that he had done pretty well in the first test.
