Remains of rare turtle discovered in Central China

New Delhi, Jan 5: A 100-million-year-old turtle fossil was recently discovered in a river in Central China.

A local resident discovered organic remains of the turtle in a river in Jiaxian, located in Pingdingshan City in Henan Province, dahe. com reported.

The remains are about 15 centimeters long and seven centimeters wide, and weigh one kilogram.

The fossil has all four limbs and tail, but lacks a head.

A local paleontology expert said that the remains are about 100 million years old. (ANI)
