Centre to spend 3.53 billion rupees in Indira Dock

New Delhi, Dec 13: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its approval for development of harbour wall berths at Indira Dock at an estimated cost of 3.53 billion rupees.

The Project is scheduled to be completed by February 2010.

The completion of the project will enable the Mumbai Port to handle larger, deeper and wider vessels.

“The project consists of construction of 10 m X 882 m reinforced concrete design (RCC) platform on piles, deepening of berth pocket and navigational channel, strengthening of the existing berths and providing 6 numbers 30 T electrical level luffing (ELL) wharf cranes and other cargo handling equipments, ” the government release said.
