UAE condemns US attack on Syria, calls for diplomatic solution
Abu Dhabi - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) condemned the recent attack by US forces on Syria and called on the US to resolve any dispute with Syria "in a diplomatic way."
UAE's Foreign Ministry issued a statement expressing its "deep concern about the repercussions of this action on peace in the region as a violation of international law and national sovereignty of Syria."
The United States said the military raid, that took place Sunday on a remote border region village, killed an Iraqi militant. Syria's state-run media said eight civilians, including four children, were killed in the raid.
The Gulf country praised the Syrian leadership reaction to the attack, saying it "showed a high degree of restraint," calling on the US "to settle any differences with Syria through diplomatic means". dpa
