Northrop not to bid for Tanker Program
According to the U. S. Representative Norm Dicks, Northrop Grumman Corp. shall not be bid for the U. S. Air Force's tanker program which is estimated at $35 billion, as the group wants the government to do some alteration in its requirement.
After the decision to get out of the bid by the Northrop group and its partner European Aeronautic Defense & Space Co., Boeing is left alone in front of the bidding table.
This was the third time when the bid has been reissued by in nine years to change its fleet of KC-135 refueling tankers with 179 new planes in its fleet.
According to the Northrop group, the requirement made by the company for the alteration only favors small plane in its bounty which will lead to financial burden on them.
This time the request entails 230 major changes, including the inflation adjustments by government.
