L K Advani’s first rally in Jabalpur today

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lal Krishna AdvaniJabalpur, Feb 6: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L K Advani will launch the 'Sankalp Yatra' from Jabalpur today.

Despite the Union Home Ministry warning of possible fidayeen attack on Advani, the BJP veteran will address a public rally at Garrison grounds here.
National Security Advisor M K Narayanan had warned that terrorists might carry out fidayeen attack at Advani's election-related rallies this month.

Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday clarified that Advani would not stop his much-touted nationwide campaign.

Last month, intelligence agencies had warned BJP President Rajnath Singh that he is being targeted by Pakistan-based terrorists, which led the Centre to ask the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Government in Uttar Pradesh to beef up his security.

Both Advani and Singh have Special Protection Group and Z-plus security with National Security Guard cover.

The BJP has maintained that the UPA Government at the Centre does not having a clear policy to fight terrorism in the country.

The party has repeatedly called on the Congress-led ruling coalition to introduce stringent laws to deal with terrorism. (ANI)
