Mutu sidelined after knee operation Rome - Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu is to be sidelined for up to seven weeks as he recovers from knee surgery, the Florence club's web site reported Monday.

Mutu, 30, was operated to treat a damaged meniscus in his left knee at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome.

The Romanian is Fiorentina's second best scorer on 13 goals, three less than Alberto Gilardino. He could be able to play the last games of the Serie A season, which ends on May 31. (dpa)
