Ingolstadt, Germany  - Audi is complementing the R8 super-performance sports car with a top 5.2 FSI quattro version that churns out 525 hp and comes with quattro all-wheel drive technology, lightweight aluminium body and all LED-headlights.

The car accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. In the version with the sequentially shifting R tronic, it passes the 200 km/h mark in another 8.1 seconds. The top speed is listed at 316 km/h.

Available in Germany from April 2009 at a basic price of 142,400 euros (183,190 dollars), standard equipment includes heated seat covers in Nappa leather, a drive info system, deluxe automatic air conditioning, anti-theft system and a 465-watt Bang & Olufsen sound system with 12 speakers.

The available options include adjustable bucket seats, front spoiler, rear diffuser, side blades and a parking system integrated with a rear-view camera or Bluetooth interface.

The optional sequential R tronic system has the short, selector lever and rocker switches positioned in an elegant aluminium finish on the steering wheel, giving an "authentic racing feel".

If desired, R tronic can also shift gears automatically. Four programs allow the driver can control this operation - two each in the manual and in the automatic mode. The most comfortable R tronic mode is "Automatic Normal", the most dynamic is "Manual Sport". (dpa)
