Archaeologists discover 8th century brick kiln in Vietnam
Hanoi, Dec 31: Archaeologists have discovered an ancient brick kiln, dating back to the 8th century, in the central province of Quang Ngai in Vietnam.
A report in Thanh Nien Daily says that the kiln, which is in one solid piece and measures 3 by 2 meters, was found on a foundation of 120 square meters in the center of the Chau Sa Citadel in the Tinh Chau Commune of the Son Tinh District.
The Chau Sa Citadel was discovered in the early 20th century by a French architect, Parmentier.
According to archaeologist Dr. Nguyen Tien Khoi of the Quang Ngai Provincial Museum, the brick kiln was made by the Cham people around the 8th century.
The Quang Ngai Provincial Museum plans to excavate the relic. (ANI)
