Journey of Olympics Torch to be covered by Huawei’s Base Station on Mt. Everest

Olympics Torch
As China gets ready for Beijing 2008 Olympics, telecom major Huawei Technologies Co Ltd announced that the company will install a new generation GSM Base Station on Mount Everest for better coverage of the event.

China Mobile has selected Huawei to provide mobile network coverage for Torch Relay Team for Beijing 2008 Olympics.

Lenovo won the contract to design the Olympics Torch for 2008 event. The journey of the Olympics torch will be covered by the 6500-meter high GSM base station.

The Olympic torch tradition started in Germany before World War II.
