Health Coverage by Nearly 3 Million Lost Across California

On the back of the many state budget cuts that were imposed about 6 months back, nearly 3 million California residents lost their health benefits or access to any health care and additional thousands ended up losing their jobs, as per figures shared by a report released on Thursday.

The report has been released by a healthcare advocacy group known as health Access California, and it analyzed the effects of about $2 Billion in yearly funding cuts that were employed by the state's health care system.

In July of 2009, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger undertook the signing of a budget which cut back a total of $24 Billion from California's yearly spending plan, and today, the Governor is all set to release a spending plan for the 2010-11 financial year. It is expected to include even more rigorous cuts to health and human services.
