The Indian arm of American automobile giant Ford Motor will launch its much awaited EcoSport compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) 26th of June 2013.  

The Ford EcoSport SUV, which is being produced at the company's Chennai-based production facility, will be available in seven colour options and four trim levels, viz. Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium Plus.

The Titanium variant of the EcoSport will come equipped with the 1 Liter EcoBoost turbocharged petrol or the 1.5 Liter Ti-VCT petrol engine. It will bring along 6-speed PowerShift dual clutch mechanical transmission for the 1.5 liter Ti-VCT petrol.

It will also get Smart Keyless entry and Push Button Start, while the top two variants of the SUV will also get SYNC emergency system, a CD/MP3 player plus a 3.5-inch multifunction display.

The upcoming SUV will also offer two interior colour options, viz. Charcoal Black + Warm neutral gray and Charcoal Black + dark shadow gray, to choose from.

The Ford EcoSport SUV was initially showcased at the last year's New Delhi Auto Expo.

Ford India is yet to announce a price tag for the EcoSport, but it is widely expected to cost in the range of Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
