Britons keep up donations for Myanmar cyclone victims

London  - The public in Britain has so far given 8 million pounds (16 million dollars) to help survivors of the cyclone in Myanmar.

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), an umbrella group representing 13 major charities, said the resulting aid would reach 600,000 people.

The appeal was launched early last week. (dpa)
