863 Candidates for Delhi polls A total of 863 candidates are in fray for Delhi polls, which will be held for 69 seats of the 70-member Assembly.

Polling to the Rajinder Nagar seat has been postponed to 13th December following the death of BJP candidate and sitting legislator Puran Chand Yogi.

The campaigning for the polls ended on Thursday. Delhi is witnessing a keenly fought electoral tussle between Congress and BJP where Mayawati-led BSP is likely to play a spoilsport.

BJP has projected senior party leader Bijoy Malhotra as its Chief Ministerial candidate.

Meanwhile, Police personnel; have intensified their patrol in public places to check any untoward incident.

The fate of 3,180 candidates has been sealed in EVMs at 47,209 polling booths and the results will be known on December 8.
